The End of an Era: A Fond Farewell to an Industry Icon

After nearly three decades, we’re saying goodbye to a true classic - the tunic that redefined uniforms in the health, beauty, and spa Industry.

Launched nearly 30 years ago, it was the first uniform in the sector to break away from the traditional white, clinical look. Until 1996, white was the only option, clean but predictable. That was until our Creative Director, Cavell Thomas, imagined something entirely different. Designed for the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge and created in collaboration with the visionary Sue Harmsworth at ESPA, the very first black Chinese-style tunic was born.

It wasn’t just a new colour; it was a statement. Bold, elegant, and unlike anything that had come before, it quickly became our best-seller and set a new standard for style across the industry. Inline didn’t just create a uniform, we sparked a movement. Soon, colours appeared where there had only been white, and the entire industry followed suit. For us, this tunic is more than fabric and thread, it’s a symbol of change, creativity, and courage.

Now, after decades at the forefront, we’re retiring this much-loved style to make way for the next chapter. As always, we’re evolving, innovating, and committed to bringing fresh designs to our wonderful customers and we thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

Stay tuned - exciting things are on the horizon!
