-DO wash garments at the correct temperature. Luxury crepe and Pinstripe are to be washed at 40ºC. Pro stretch garments are to be washed at 60ºC. Please note that excessive heat will destroy the fabric.
-DO wash white garments separately.
-DO hang to dry. Garments are almost dry when removed from the machine and need to be hung only for a short period to dry completely.
-DOtreat oil and wax stains as soon as possible. The success of removing stains is dependent on how quickly they are treated. Use stain removal sprays such as Biotex, Shout or Vanish for this purpose.
-DO iron on a cool setting. Iron on the reverse side of the cloth to avoid shine marks.
Stains:
The success of removing stains is directly dependent on how quickly the stains are treated. Oil & wax stains need to be treated at the end of the working day. Spray soiled areas with a stain removal spray such as Biotex, Shout or Vanish (available at most supermarkets). Avoid spraying logos as this can cause the embroidery thread to fade in colour.
DO NOT SOAK GARMENTS. Do not iron any stain as the heat binds the stain to the fabric & renders it permanent.
Washing:
Machine wash garment at the correct temperature. Please see above. This is vital for the removal of dirt & most stains from the cloth. A temperature too low will not release the dirt & stains from the cloth & it will become permanently soiled over time. Hang items to dry. This fabric is almost dry when it is removed from the washing machine & needs to be hung for a short period of time to dry completely. Wash white garments separately & for best results, preferably on their own so that they are not subject to abrasion from other garments in the machine drum.
* Beware of heat *
Do not tumble dry as this destroys the stretch properties in the weave. If necessary, when ironing, lightly press the garment on the reverse side of the cloth using a COOL SETTING for synthetics to prevent shine marks on the fabric.
Fabric Softner:
Do not use fabric softner, especially coloured softners (eg. Blue) on white uniforms. The colour pigment adheres to the polyester fibres over time giving the cloth a grey look.
Starch:
If the uniform is feeling limp, place liquid starch in the softner container of your machine. This gives the uniform body & keeps it looking smart at all times.
