Inline is very much a family business, built on family principles. We are passionate about the company and the products that we create, which is a good thing as it has consumed our lives for 15 years!
We take great pride in the fact that our staff are personal, friendly and part of our extended family. We hope that our clients feel welcome and well looked after.
Inline has been in operation for 15 years and was founded in a one bedroom flat in London in 1993.
At the time, Cavell Keey, Founder and Creative Director, had secured a fashion design degree in London and was working for Harrods managing a concession. She lived with her sister, Terry who was studying Beauty Therapy at the Shaw College in Picadilly.
The two sisters spotted an opportunity for well cut, flattering beautician uniforms as there was nothing stylish, nor tailored on the market at that time. With the assistance of an expert pattern cutter and seamstress, Cavell created a range of ten styles, which she showcased at the Brighton Metropole Health & Beauty Show in 1994. The main emphasis was on fit and superior quality, our company ethos which has not changed to this day. The range was so popular that 200 orders were placed on the first day and Inline London never looked back.
In 2000, Neil Thomas, (Cavells husband) joined the business to manage and direct the companies growth. From a banking background and having just completed an MBA, Neil introduced a business discipline and a more structured approach to building the Inline brand.
"It's tough working together but we're a good team. I'm the creative one while Neil makes sure we stick to the business plan" says Cavell.
We joined forces with another family run business, a manufacturing company based in Scotland. It is a wonderful partnership that still exists today. Their quality is outstanding having manufactured garments for Jaeger, Country Casuals and many other successful brands.
Our head office and distribution is run from our offices in Guildford and we now have additional offshore operations in Mauritius and Turkey.
Along the way, somehow, we had three children Wynn, Zach and Ella. Three more Inline recruits! They are always keen to play in the warehouse, but not very keen to pick and pack!
So far Inline has been a wonderful journey. We hope it continues. It's a lot of hard work but it's always a pleasure.
The last word must go to our loyal customers who believe in Inline as much as we do. Without them this journey would not have been possible.
It is always better to be
looked over than over-looked!
